    Hello from Durham, North Carolina!

    Hi Everyone,

I am fairly new to welding. I started taking classes at my local community college, Durham Tech. I've had 5 classes so far, and I just want to keep doing it. Been a carpenter for over 20 years and always wanted to learn welding, but never found the time until now. I feel like a whole new world of building has opened up for me. I just wish I could afford all the new toys I would like to have!

Thanks for reading, see you in the forum!

    Meh,
    don't sweat the toys...

A lot can be done with an AC buzz box or a small mig welder.
a few essentials.. and yer off to the races.

4-1/2" angle grinder is fairly cheap... eye protection... decent Lid, gloves etc

lucky for you we just unloaded some dead weight so we have room for some new blood.
    welcome aboard.
