    Broken Regulator Gauge

I have a MIG welder that has the regulator low pressure gauge broken. Where can I get a replacement gauge? Can I just go to a store like Rural King, Lowes or Tractor Supply and get a low pressure gauge or do I need to get one from a welding shop for a MIG Welder?

    Thanks for all your help.

I've bought one on Amazon and eBay in the past.

Might be cost effective to just buy a new flow meter rather than replace the gauge on your (arguably) less accurate gauge style.

I can't image there's anything special about the gauge, it's not like it's handling a corrosive gas or anything. I would think that Any gauge in the right pressure range with the same inlet will work just fine...

If it's a flow gauge with 2 round gauges the low pressure gauge will read in cubic feet per hour(CFH) not psi. You'll probably have to go to welding supply or torch repair shop to get it. Shouldn't be very expensive.

It should also state the orifice size on the face of the gauge. .035 seems to be the most common.

...even though it's only actually measuring psi (and assuming CFH based on a given orifice size)...

I'm with Lis ... looks like (the better) actual ball flowmeters start around $30 on Amazon.:

    Re: Broken Regulator Gage

I've had decent luck with the cheap flow meters off eBay and Amazon, but also had two that leaked out of the box and had to be replaced.

The one thing I don't like is that they're set for 50PSI and give a pretty good blast of gas when you hit the pedal. The better flow meters are generally 25PSI and a few even 20PSI.

A Harris 355 is made in the U.S., 20PSI output so no blast, and runs right around $100. That's what I've put on all my machines...and you can get parts to repair/rebuild them if you drop one or it develops issues.
