Re: The Oh Fishall Fuel Pump Thread

Final update I guess..............(like there won't be anymore bad news with this thing)

The new hose inside the hose works beautifully. Takes gas like a champ.

BUT WHEN YOU FILL THE DAMN TANK IT LEAKS I have no idea where it's leaking from. Can't see it from underneath because the skid plate completely covers the front, and rear, sides of the tank. And, I'm just about certain it's not leaking from any of the fittings (pump gasket, vapor valve, or fill hose) I can see the fill hose, but can't see the pump gasket..........but it feels dry around the gasket area when it's leaking. So I guess there's a hole somewhere on the side of the damn tank. I never saw it when the thing was out of the truck, and never thought to pressure test the tank............Hell, who would?

We filled it to the max for the first time today on a hay run. Gas was 2.61 along the way, so took advantage of the price. It was leaking pretty heavy, but stopped when we put some miles on it. This says that the leak is somewhere near the top of the tank.

I can see the fill hose where it goes into the tank, and it's dry. I hate to take that damn bed off again to find the leak

We're gonna use it today to go get a load of cubes. I'll fill it up full again, and see how many miles it actually leaks before it quits. The road we're taking has shoulders, so I can stop every few miles. This might give clue as to how high on the tank the leak is. WHAT A PITA.

And the doggone tailpipe sits right next to the right side of the tank It does have a metal shield, but if the gas flies around when caught in the slipstream..........................POOF!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!! It didn't blow up last night, so I think we're safe.

If you are going down the road trailing flames, get video. Be worth watching.

Re: The Oh Fishall Fuel Pump Thread

I know this isn't specifically related to the thread..............but I can go off topic on my own thread

I'm still running on the back tank. Gonna do it till it's time to fill it again to try to see where it's leaking. It's not leaking now.

    Anyways

I finally got around to running over to get a load of cubes. Hooked the box trailer up, and boooooogied this morning.

I get over there, and get loaded.......................This was a story in itself. Doods at the feed store wanted to push a pallet of feed into the trailer Screw you!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You stack that crap on the floor BY HAND. I don't want my floor boogered up by pushing a pallet across it. Hell, it's a small 6x10 enclosed trailer with a plywood floor. They weren't happy, but did it.

So.......now it's time for lunch. (K'kins said to go ahead and stop for lunch because she probably wouldn't want to have lunch today).

I go to the Sonic, and back the truck/trailer into a corner of the lot to keep it out of the way. Sonic is a drive-in, and I can't do a drive-in with a truck and trailer. I have to park, and eat at the picnic table.

    I Got Karen'd

Some old bat (or it might have been a young bat) called the manager to tell him that my truck was parked in a dangerous spot. It interfered with people driving out of the take out window area. Cell phones

I had no idea......................I'm sittin' there in the shade eating my Sonic foot long coney. With a coke, and fries.

Some dooooood comes out, and sits down at the table.....................XCUSE ME?????????????? (thinks me)

Dood tells me he's the manager, and wanted to tell me something.

Tells me about the call, and how he went out the back door, and looked at my truck, and determined that the damn thing was no danger to grandma's, babies, and other defenseless things.

THE WORLD IS GOING STRAIGHT DOWN THE CRAPPER

I know it was really weird to do this in this thread, but what with all the crap I'm facing, I thought this was incredible. She's (Karen) worrying about this crap, not considering how fragile life is.

Had a car pass me on a hill on the way home after this, and was really a close call. I just drove on, and thought about when we go. I'm not sure I would have been too upset to go at the time the car passed me. We have an expiration date............who knows when it is.

Being an azzhole..........I didn't care what happened to the occupants of the car, but I did care about the occupants of the oncoming car that the jerk almost killed.

I would estimate, that by time we crested the hill, the oncoming car was about 200ft from colliding with the passing car.

K'kins went to the casino tonight. I cautioned her to watch out for drivers. I always do. I can't stand the thought of her going in a crash.

For y'all who judge her liking the slots...............She doesn't have hobbies. She doesn't do much besides work. She works at her job, and works here on the farm. She likes the slots............like I like the market. We both have our "things".

I don't like going to the casino with her. I just sit at the bar, and really don't like it. I'm not a bar guy anymore. So, I don't go. I like the fact that she goes. She needs entertainment. We all do. She doesn't complain when I sit on the computer all night, and give out completely useless information

She does fairly well. I can truly attest to that. I mean in the 3-4 figures take on some nights. The gainers outnumber the losers. She's lucky, I'm not. I've played with the machines, and I generally lose. I make money on the ponies, but I won't step foot in a casino.

You cannot expect your spouse to do the things you do. It's a recipe for disaster. You go with the flow. And, you cheer your spouses success. Remember, she takes care of you when nobody else will. This, folks, is love.

And, when you both do something you both enjoy..............that, my friends, is golden. But don't expect to have her be in lockstep with what you like.
