Size: 116.0 KBFor those of you that knew in person or knew from here, CEP aka Carl Pennington has passed away. Carl was a great friend and a mentor to many. Carl would teach any kid willing to learn how to weld in his shop at no charge, he was as loyal as the day is long as well as stubborn…. Here’s a photo of Carl in his element teaching my son the finer points of TIG welding aluminum. RIP CEP

Damn. Had a bad feeling about Carl's condition awhile back.

As soon as I saw the thread title my stomach sank.

Would have loved to have met him - RIP Carl.

His posts and threads were (are) a joy to read. A pretty good "hobby" welder if there ever was one.

The exchanges between you and he were always fun too. He'll be missed for sure.

My condolences to the family and friends.
This has been a bad 10 days. A 62 year old friend of mine passed, my friends brother at 30, and now CEP.

My condolences to family, and friends.

Sad news indeed, hadn't seen any posts in a while. Really miss his posts, always ready to share a picture of the welds done right, with settings.
I especially liked his hammer test for fillet welds.

Oh, man, this is sad news to hear. I was wondering when we didn't hear from CEP for a while. He sure knew his stuff for "just a hobbyist" weldor, and I for one will miss seeing his pictures posted up here. My condolences to CEP's family.

Sad news to hear. Condolences to his close friends and family. I always got a kick out of Carl telling the damp 7018 nazis stories about him welding in that PNW unending rain all day.

Carl was a good man, we had a great respect for each other and enjoyed giving each other a hard time.

RIP CEP, loved the pics of marine welding near my hometown on the Columbia river. A good man, with nary a bad thing to say here, more should follow his lead.
