    7 way spade trailer plug

Anyone know of a metal 7 way spade trailer plug? All I can find around here are the cheap plastic ones and they split after less than a year usually along the key or the 1/8" set screw, I'm tired of replacing the cheap POS...............MikeName: trailer plug.jpg

Never seen one but you could convert the type used on 18 wheelers with the round pins.

    Here you go!
I looked high and low and never saw a link anywhere for a metal one, I didn't think there was such a beast, tks. Now to find one on Canada :-).

Thought of that but my truck, as well as all other, are the flat 7 pin so I don't want an odd ball. Yes you can get adaptors but the less plugs the better...............Mike

I wasn't sure they made a metal one with flat pins. I thought I'd seen way back but I've slept since then, LOL!!

You do not want a metal one,, and, you do not want a plastic one,,

    YOU want a RUBBER one,,
I have a rubber one, it has been through most every situation you can imagine,,
It just keeps on surviving,, I doubt that you could destroy it with a 2 pound hammer,, unless, you worked at it for a while,,

The rubber looks like the same stuff the cord is made out of,,
the plug came pre-installed on my dump trailer, I bought it in 1999, and it is still perfect,,

    YOU want a RUBBER one,,
That I've never seen, sounds intriguing.
Saying that, I don't think I'd have a problem with a metal one neither, I'm anal about keeping everything coated with Fluid Film or in this case, dielectric grease. My daughter grabbed the plug one day to put it in my truck for me, even being plastic I had it coated, I got called a few choice names LOL. What ticked her off is her BF is exactly the same, hinges, door rubbers you name it it's covered only thing she can touch on her van without getting coated is the door handles and steering wheel..........Mike

I will agree the rubberized ones are nice. Only problem is I haven’t found them without replacing the entire cord
