    Argon Tank Date Stamp Question

I thought I knew how to read these, but I guess I don't. When was this tank tested?

Re: Argon Tank Date Stamp Question

When go fill tank they tell the date.
Most tanks need to be tested every 5 years.
Some new tanks well 10 years.

    Dave

FYI the marks after the date [+*] is 10 years test date and over fill by 10%

+ sign followed by a star sign means test is good for 10 years. Most customer owned cylinders only get the +. I did a fair amount of hydrotesting back in the mid 80's

That is the part I actually understood.

It is the 18 that had me confused.

Doh! IA18 is the stamp of a specific independent tester. Confusion over!
