    dynasty 280

A friend just bought a brand new miller dynasty 280..its been running well for three weeks, then today has power input fault..and then pop!

Have others had problems with the 280 ?
I have a 200dx and its been ok (not as good as the Hitachi gp300 -last forever!)

Good thing it was 3 weeks rather than 3 years. Certainly not a repair I would want to pay for.

seen a few. with several different problems. does yours have the cooler power supply built into it? If so it might have failed.
when they blow and the welder is out of warranty we don't fix the cooler power supply, just unplug it. replace pc7 and welder is usable.
steal a line cord off a computer or monitor and plug the cooler into the wall. cooler runs all the time.
At less the 1 month you might try taking it back where you bought it and see if they will contact Miller. and you might get a new welder.
You can call miller tech support and tell them how old it is and what it did and see if you can arrange a replacement.
Go to millerwelds.com first and register the welder. might have to upload a copy of the sales slip. Do first.

    Hi Thanks for that,will check.
Even though its all well within warranty its not a good start.and not having a welder for a week while its being repaired is not good.
