Okay. The search is over. I spent the day cleaning up my new find and addressed a few little things.

Quite a few odds and ends I need to do but it is basically rust free and good to go.




1963 Scout 80
152 4 cylinder
Dana 27 front power lock
Dana 27 rear
427 ratio
3 speed manual
Warn overdrive
Lots of new parts including brakes

Imported into BC in 1992 from Cle Elum Washington. (12V71 land lol)

Sat in a barn 24 years. Purchased and repainted for a Netflix series (A Series of Unfortunate Events) in 2016.

50,000 miles on the odometer.

It has overdrive, but still... good point about engine hours.

I'm pretty happy about the purchase and got it way below current market value.

I would say that to Lis it's priceless. I like the idea of the '64 on the late frame. I would kinda like a '57-'59 Ford on a late frame. Had a '59 250 for awhile years ago, first year of factory Ford 4X4... I think. Turned out somebody else thought it was worth 3 times what I paid for it.

I still have my first tractor, a 1950 Farmall Cub I got at age 9, My first Jeep, a 1947 CJ2A I got at age 13, (though #2 son has "borrowed" it at present). I have a desire to own another Jaguar XKE roadster.
Unless I fall unexpectedly into vast wealth, I'll settle for a model. The 1968 I had in 1976 seemed too expensive to freshen up. It had a hard life before I bought it. Worst was some butcher had done a Cesarean on the transmission. Left the unibody tunnel weakened. I sold it & have regretted selling ever since.

In my opinion, it doesnt matter what the price was. If you can afford it and it makes you happy, who cares what others think or say. You only live once and you cant take it with you. Enjoy it.

Probably sold new for less than $3000. No argument, that was a very good price. A dollar went farther in the early sixties. You gonna drive it, or show it?

The plan today is to deal with these wimpy tailgate chains scratching the paint ...





A quick Google search shows aftermarket replacements from $100 a pair to NOS OEM for $500. Lol. That's not gonna happen.
