1980
Should never have sold it. The prices for the Scout II went through the roof in these parts.

Re: WTB IH Scout 80
I think the craze for the original Ford Bronco has capped. Scouts may be the new craze and could command higher dollars in the end as there were only half a million made.
My affection for the vehicle is 90% sentimental.

That was my dream machine 50 years ago. It was BIG, powerful & rugged! I wanted it bad. My father didn't approve! That made it more desirable. I did not then or now like pickup boxes. A lot of space I can't easily get to, & everything is always wet. A travelall was as roomy as a pickup, towed pretty heavy trailer & my tools were accessible & dry. I could even lock it.
An optimist is usually wrong, and when the unexpected happens is unprepared. A pessimist is usually right, when wrong, is delighted, and well prepared.

My father also disliked pick up trucks so we never had one on the farm
The Travelall's electric operated slide down window in the tailgate malfunctioned more often than not.
Consequently tools and 5 gallon cans of diesel had to be humped over the rear seat and out the side doors. My sister hated the truck even more than me. lol

Re: WTB IH Scout 80
Lis2323 do you mind letting me know what you sold it for I’m in Alberta looking to fly out next week to buy this scout in Duncan bc. The frame when you had it was solid I just ask as I seems Asian family owns it now and can’t answer a simple question 😂

It was solid. Literally in storage 20 plus years. Originally from Western Washington
Sold it for $32,500 CDN
The asian girl that bought it was either a paralegal or lawyer. She was fluent in English and was a very knowledgeable buyer concerning the Scout.
