Re: Gang drill press
I like the shoes the Clausing is wearing,,
how do you keep the gang drill from walking out of the shop on Friday nights??
I hear those drill presses like to hook up with lathes late at night,, that is where bench top mills come from,,
Maybe you ought to lock up those shoes??,,,

Right. I anchored the base of the column to the floor with a couple of 3)8" sleeve anchors. I was going to make up some type of steel base to hold it stationary, but the anchors were much faster and easier .

Re: Gang drill press
Cut down this 26" wide harbor freight rollaway to fit in the opening under the table on the Clausing. Opening is about 2" wider so need to trim out the sides with some aluminum angle to close in the sides.

Man those columns are long. Well now if you need to stand an engine block up, you've got the room. lol
Nice find.

Yeah really long. In another thread I built a jib crane and it will clear them by about 3/4". Right now it's sitting out in the middle of the shop. After I get the cabinet installed it will need to be moved back into place with a pallet jack.

Re: Gang drill press
. All mounted in place. I was able to attach thru the caster mounting area to some angles I welded to the frame. Those allow me to use a pallet jack to move this heavy beast. Should give me a decent amount of storage in an otherwise wasted space.
