Finished the west end gable wall stud framing on the scissor trusses. Have I mentioned that I hate scissor trusses. Son says their are a a pain in the *** also now.
East wall to do tomorrow. Will be a bit easier than the west wall. Studs are needed to attach the OSB on both sides of the walls as well for insulation.

We are doing ridge cap vents along the entire 60'. No soffit vents. One gable wall vent each end.Pretty dry country here and very little humidity. All my buildings are done the same way. Never had a interior drip. Told the son it is up to him to do the insulation in the ceiling.
Have to say building with wood is so much faster than building with used rusted metal. Measure, mark, cut, grind, fit up, mark again, grind other surface, measure, mark and then weld it. Then add in the equation of one person doing it, go up ladder clamp tape measure off move ladder to other side go back up ladder, measure then mark go back down and repeat other side for squareness. Getting me dizzy typing this

My son does not like getting on a ladder much. So it goes a bit slower. Today we 3 of us so that helped some. I did most of the cutting and handing them up stuff to nail. Had to do the top of the exterior gable peak as it was a bit too high for him. He says today that this shop build is the most he has been on a ladder all his life.
Finished up doing the roof fabric today. Now rain will run off the roof, until we get the roofing tin up. Also finished up half of the west gable end OSB. Next to do the other half, then back to the east end gable wall. Finished up cutting out the last two window openings. Once we have the house wrap done on the walls we can install windows and doors. Winter is coming too fast!!!
A case of fat thumb has struck again. Had to stop a couple days ago on the roof work due to winds of 25mph. Be glad to get the roof tin, windows, doors and house wrap on before the snow hits.
Twenty-five mph winds that's it? You should be use to these winds when they start ripping around up to 40 mph. I'm just giving you a hard time, nice you got the underlayment down before things really started going sideways. You and me both are schitting ourselves trying to get done before first snow hits or least a roof on. White roof or another color roof you are going with?
We have 2 days of rain/snow and 30 mph winds so a couple days off. Son got his windows, entry doors and the 12x12 and 10x10 garage doors. We still have lots to do but running out of time before the real winter hits. Al the exterior OSB is on now and roof fabric is on so no water inside. Was planning on doing house wrap this week, but guess we have to wait a few days now.
Yes, scissor trusses can be a pain to install and hang ceiling material on, but they offer a nice increase in height inside the shop. The peak is a great location to run dust collection ductwork too for a wood shop.

I have been away from the shop build due to weather and a trip to the ER. Weather is 4 inches of snow and winds around 50 mph for two days. Still have snow on the ground but is warming up some so it won't last too much longer.
The ER trip was Wednesday morning at 5AM due to an enlarged prostate blocking urine flow. Painful condition. They put in a catheter which was not pleasant but the relief from pain was well worth it. Gave me a script to reduce muscles around the bladder and prostate and to shrink the prostate. If all works as planned the catheter comes out tomorrow morning and I should be back to normal. Hope to get back to the shop in a couple more days. So house bound for now.

Ask you urologist about the possibility of taking Dutasteride.
It was a miracle drug for me but not everyone can take it!
Any time you guys have a catheter installed, USE LUBE ON THE TIP OF YOUR TALLYWHACKER!!! After I had prostrate surgery, they put in a catheter for about a week to let the stitches around the urethra/bladder heal. That was the first catheter I ever had. NO ONE at the freaking hospital told me to lube the end of your pecker. That cat rubbed me so raw, that was some of the worst pain I ever experienced. Any movement was excruciating. My son's girlfriend works at a urology clinic, she said use petroleum jelly or neosporin....AHHHHHH, instant relief!!!!!
