I "think" my power source is a 1994. Also have a 30A spool gun. Is there an adjustment on the spool gun (other than the wire speed control in the handle) to fine tune the wfs? I have the gun set on 4 and it will shove material right out the door.

WFS adjustment is all with the dial. Just the way it is

may have to turn the weld voltage up a little. AL is a spray arc process so you weld hot and move fast. don't try for the short arc sound ,you will end up with a forest of wire on the back of the plate.

it just seems to me that the wfs adjustment on the handle of the gun is not calibrated to fit the numbers. Like #5 could be considered "break the sound barrier".I'm half afraid to see what 10 would look like.
Also, have any of you used the spool gun to run self shielding wire?

You can move the knob on the shaft so the numbers make sense to you .
But I think the speed control pot should be a multi-turn pot. 3 or 5 turns.
So the numbers really don't mean anything.
