    Note that inverters need to be specifically designed for welding with an E6010 electrode. Adding the required electronic components and writing the algorithms that provide good arc characteristics increases the cost of the unit. Most small multiprocess inverters designed to appeal more to the home-hobby welder simply don’t have these components (and the target audience doesn’t have the skill to run E6010 electrodes even if they did).
    Tomorrow after church I will have to whip out some Lincoln 5P+ 6010 (the white flux) which I picked up a few years ago courtesy of Oscar and the Laredo TX Home Depot deal. I want to see what my MM 255 can do with this stuff, as it is an inverter.

    It certainly does require a large amount of power to charge all that metal !

    They large inductors indeed an yet they can be replaced with software. That with software for hot start and arc force certainly makes what was once a big heavy welder a lot more portable.

    I opened up a brand new box of Washington electrode 5/32 6010, and it runs great! I think the Lincoln stuff either doesn't agree with my machine, or was too old.

    FWIW, I've heard of people saying that 6010/1 can get too dried out, and they suggest dipping it in water before using it (!) though I've never tried it...

    I was told a long time ago that single phase welder has poor DC for some type welding. Single phase has 120 hz. A three phase and a true DC welder dose not have the odd cycle.

    A few single phase welder will use a bank of capacitors.
    I know when I use a DC welder generator it is lot smooth arc.
    This maybe your problem
