Miller big 50. Is the power originating from the generator AC or DC? And what would the voltage be?

I've read the entire manual and it does not mention anything about what type current originates from the generator. It talks about AC and using it as a backup generator and even how to hook it up on one that is factory prepared for it, mine isn't that's why I need to know where to connect my 240 breaker and transfer switch. If it's original current is AC inverted to DC for welding I could figure the rest out. If it's original current is DC inverted to AC I would need to know where that takes place. Thanks for your interest.

Yep it would be a piece of cake if the leads on the machine were numbered as they are in the diagram, unfortunately they are not, at least not on my machine. So I'm gonna have to say no, the manual is not enough especially since I'm going to have my entire house and shop attached to this thing. I will figure it out though I always do. Thank you.

I am unable to run my machine at present since my fuel injection pump is in the shop being rebuilt. I was hoping to get a few questions answered on here since it's going to be another week before my pump is ready. You and a couple of others have answer my main question [an alternator Generating AC power] that simple answer puts me way ahead rigging this thing up. My multimeter will guide me through the rest once my machine is running again. So thank you sir your help is very much appreciated.

Most of these welders only produce around 3k of generator output. If you want to power your shop and house you will need one with the "Optional Auxiliary Power Plant". That is not an add on accessory. Its a whole different generator. They are rare and really hard to find.
