    Lincoln SA 200 fan belt??

    I just got my 1946 Lincoln SA-200 short hood running, and the fan belt is in horrible shape. The number on the original is a Dayton VX-14, and the machine is a hand crank model with a F162, no alternator or tensioner. Does anyone have part numbers, cross references, correct measurements, or (most helpfully) a procedure to tighten the belt? Thanks in advance!

    Ok, to kind of answer my own question, and if it helps anyone else, it's about a 5/8 to 11/16 wide belt, about 43 inches long. Note the ABOUT. I don't know exactly. But 44 is too long, even though it looks about the same.

    Is it a standard "A" or "B" belt? Seems like all you should need is the length (or the old belt)...measure it or match it up in the store...if too long/short, swap it out.

    The beginning numbers in a belt description : 3VX = 3/8" top width cogged belt
    5VX = 5/8" top width cogged belt

    The ending number is the outside length : 3VX250 = 25.0 in belt (Outside length)
    5VX1400 = 140.0 in belt (Outside length)
