Lincoln AC225 C repair question
I have an older AC225C stick welder that I use once in a great while. The power adjustment is not working and when I opened it up I found the plastic yoke that slides the magnets is broken. The parts are no longer available but does anyone know what type of plastic it is? I would like to repair it, if I can, by welding the plastic. There is some lateral tension on the broken joints so I don't want to waste the time on a duct tape repair.
Thanks

Re: Lincoln AC225 C repair question
Or a job for someone that has one...
Is there enough room to Crazy Glue it back together, and lay a coat of fiberglass over the whole thing for reinforcement? Could it be duplicated in something like hardwood? ... assuming it needs to be something that acts as an insulator... pics would help. Somebody out there may have a supply of obsolete parts or know where to find them...

Re: Lincoln AC225 C repair question
Thanks for the suggestions. The 3D printer wouldn't work out as the magnets are molded into the piece (probably two pieces sandwiching the magnets and bonded in a more controlled environment than I care to try to create). Tried welding the plastic. It worked for a while until the unit heated up. Too bad, it's probably the only part in the whole device that could fail.

Re: Lincoln AC225 C repair question
I was at a welder shop the other day and the guy had several of those machines sitting on the shelf for sale or for parts. Maybe call up a welder repair shop and ask? Might be easier than finding the 3D printer (not as fun though I imagine)
