Face Shield

I was wondering about those mesh ones, I've never tried one. After 3 trips to the ER for metal in the eye (twice while wearing a full face shield), I fully understand where you're coming from about keeping the glasses on under the shield. Fragments can bounce in from over the top or around the edges. I like to use the glasses with the foam around the edges to keep things out when it's not too hot (fogging issues). The better glasses also seem to stay clear longer and aren't much different cost wise than replacing visor fronts. These days I rely more on the glasses and try to stay out of the line of fire, but I don't have any Safety Bob's looking over my shoulder.

yea, safety glasses should stay on always w/ whatever else i think. another vip thing for me is ear plugs. not for sound so much, but tooo kkep hot ambers out. i buy 100 packs of mouldex, and spread them in glove compartments/toolboxs/etc. ive had a couple hot ambers funnel down the ear, and the wax starts sizzling, and there aint nothin u can do. the worst experience i lost about 1/3 of hearing for 3 weeks, luckily returned

well, i kinda like to be able to hear when i got ear plugs in. so i stick them in just far enough to keep fire out. i should have said, that the ambers i have pronblems w/ are from when welding (spatter/molten steel-slag) , not grinding so much. when i have to use a shield over face, i usually have to have hardhat too, so type i have, is a headset/bracket, that fits to style hardhat that has brim all way around. bracket has a plastic channel, that fits over front of brim, and rubber snubber loops over rear, to hold it on. the mesh shiled i use is shorter than pictured, i can kinda look under it if i **** my head back. i got a story (a bit comical) about hearing when u work, but its too long, i might post later. but thanks for the link/suggestion

I bought a Husqvarna hard hat, mesh shield, and ear muffs 7 years ago. I use it for weed wacking and chainsaw use.
Back then it was $40. It's great protection for those wearing glasses. No more weed guts to clean off glasses.
