It came off a rabbit, the kind of thing my mother in law would have in her garden. It is a solid casting, which I find odd. Most of these lawn ornaments I've seen are hollow. She wanted to know if I could weld it back on. Will do spark and drill test if she brings it back.
Then if it is iron (magnetic) it is most likely gray iron of whatever grade was in the furnace the day they wanted to get the molds off the pouring floor. Up here it would get o/a brazed and painted. Or if the bronze was going to offend someone maybe welded with cast iron again with o/a.
I'd probably just use an epoxy to repair a lawn ornament. It's has a lot of rough surface area so should work great and keep the existing colour match.
If you weld it, that kind of stuff is made with pot metal. Like anything around the pot gets dropped into it, steel, other cast, aluminum, the older Chinese guy who wanted a raise.... anything.
