Please Post Your Christmas Welding Wish List

It is that time if the year, family asks "What Do You Want For Christmas?" We all run into this,, EVERY year
It would be nice if there was a thread of ideas that each of us could pick from to give our loved ones ideas as to what we would like.

Well, so, I came here,, you guys have many answers,, so help a guy out,,

The item has to be meaningful, (NO "welding neckties!")
The item has to fit that narrow focus of meaningful price point (NO asking for a new Miller Trailblazer)
The item has to be available (NO replacement tips for a 1918 obsolete Victor torch, that have not been available since 1975)
The item must be wrappable (NO 26 foot extension ladders)

    ETCETRA!!

Bonus points if the item is available on Amazon,,
Double bonus points if the item is unusually low cost compared to the value!

So, there we have it,, what items should us welders want for Christmas?

Face it, guys,, if you do not make a list,, you will be getting the wrong color socks,, or ANOTHER lame necktie,, which you never wear,,

    Show me what you want!!

We only have a week or so, if the item(s) need to be ordered, so do not delay adding to the list.

Re: Please Post Your Christmas Welding Wish List

    Dear Santa,

I've been good most of this year. All I ask is for a 25 HP, variable speed, twin screw air compressor with a refrigerated air dryer and all the associated plumbing and hardware to get it going, along with a 120gal receiver tank and extra oil for future oil changes. I will leave milk and cookies by the Christmas tree.

    Thanks,

    Oscar

I get a ton of feed every year for Xmas. Don't expect it change, no matter how hard I try to lobby for something else

We had no Xmas last year because of Covid, and don't expect to have one this year. But we're all still above ground, so I guess that's the real Xmas present.

Re: Please Post Your Christmas Welding Wish List

To be honest I got evry tool I ever needed or ever wanted to do the work I do, and in most cases a few extra of each for a backup if needed, God granted me the skills and desire to do this work as well, and for that I am grateful. So I guess what I would put on a wish list is to continue keepin busy doin what I do, have good health and to be happy with what I got, and I am happy in that regard. Cant ask for much more than that.

Fail on conditions 2 (price) and 4 (wrappable) but I like your style and ambition!!

    Make them tell you “no”.

Well, since you considered the extension ladder unwrappable, I'll add some body to it...

LOL... or "she" was April.... maybe May.... or June. Reminds me of an old joke about when Hank Snow met June Carter and we got 6" of Snow in June, but I digress. I work with a conservation group and we gave away free hats for years, so I have no shortage of peaked farmer's hats.

All I want is one of those magnetic eyeglass holders to keep my readers from falling out of my pocket when I am working! That drives me crazy!

    Meets all of MK’s requirements:

The item has to be meaningful, (NO "welding neckties!"). Check!
The item has to fit that narrow focus of meaningful price point (NO asking for a new Miller Trailblazer) Check!
The item has to be available (NO replacement tips for a 1918 obsolete Victor torch, that have not been available since 1975). Check!
The item must be wrappable (NO 26 foot extension ladders). Check!

    ETCETRA!!

Bonus points if the item is available on Amazon,, Check!
Double bonus points if the item is unusually low cost compared to the value! Double Check $7.99!!

I see WB4RT lists 10ft drill bits in his sig.... some long bits would come in handy some time (not necessarily 10 ft'rs ). I have the set screw extensions, but sometimes a long bit would work a lot better.

They come in sections - 3’ and 3 1/2’ - to make 10’. You can buy 1-2 sections, but I started making them to run wires in stud walls. I have sold them for 13+ years and is very interesting what people use them for. But this is the smallest small business in America.

I can wrap them if you add to your Christmas Welding Wish List!

I wish that I'm physically strong enough I could weld by Christmas, hopefully a lot sooner though. If the weather was nice enough, I could finish welding the centering pins on the wheel adapters I made for the grader. I don't like leaving projects half done but in this case I had no choice. The stem cell transplant just sucks all of your energy. Getting out of a chair takes a lot of work. Really like the Mag drills from Mag Tool with the rotating pads to fit pipe. They need to make special bits for fitting pipe nozzles with a taper for full penetration. That would be a game changer for fitting smaller nozzles on vessels. Way simpler than using a torch in a circle cutter.
