In the 80's I had one of those Transtars in my little grain hauler fleet, 400 Cummins with a 13 speed, Dual chrome everything with 6" pipes and a custom stainless sunvisor. Pretty truck, but it was still a 13 letter sh!tspreader.

I saw that a while back and thought the same thing....

I put plenty of miles on a cornbinder pretty much the same as in the video.

Not the most comfortable truck but it sure made getting into Jamaica Queens and Newark a lot easier.

It was a little tough for the lot lizards to climb in... but we made it work..

Those trucks look pretty sweet all dolled up with a slightly stretched out wheel base. 10-4 ?

Samm, I have to agree with ya, anyone that would take a nice late 50's Chevy/GMC 4x4 pickup and put them FUGLY wheels and tires on it should be tarred & feathered! Actually I do hate those kinds of tires & wheels on ANYTHING, but what they did to the international just ain't right.

I don't know about south of the border, but up here old trucks are the new hot commodity. I bid on a 48 IHC 2 ton over a year ago. I thought $3k would bring it home. Went another direction for $7,500... not running.

Seth was at Paul Smith's College a brief time.
Zack was their four years.
Both met & have enduring friendship with a local. He now owns a long nose IH road tractor, but works for a fellow who buys & refurbishes these IH cabovers. Jeff hauls in these things thousands of miles. Each gets driven back to upstate NY when it is bought, then they disappear into the shop for months. When they roll out, they are road ready. There must be ten active on the highway at a time.

They weren't a bad looking truck if they were done right. In the same time frame I found one with an 8V-92 Detroit and a 750 Allison auto, I threatened to buy it and make the ex wife drive it. She said "NO". She could drive a 13 speed.

I personally don't have money to burn like that. My disposable income goes on other things, perhaps things I find more enjoyable?

Although about 10 years ago there was an old Fiat car we had on the farm as a runabout that I purposefully wrecked for fun. We all hated that car, no tears were shed, it was worthless anyway.
