    air arc gouging

    I have the 350 ext what would be the maximum size rod I could use? I believe that it will not put out 350 amps in Stick mode correct?

    Correct. IIRC the stick output is 270A. It is not made to air arc gouge. It will blow up the unit. It is not designed for this type of long arc, high voltage output. It will also void the warranty. So please do not do this if you have one already. You will need the PowerMTS 400 since it is designed for this operation.
