    JB Weld ?

It says set in 4 to 6 hrs and then overnight above 40 F. I dont have a sheet for it I wonder how much temp accelerates it, both set and cure.. I just put a second gob on, dont believe I disturbed the set, in a while I want to flip and pot another gob on the other side. I am going to put in front of a register. Will it fully cure in 12 hrs at 100 degrees?

Yes it should be good 2 go in 12 hours.

If it's real cold when using it, I sometimes heat up the puddle with a heatgun while you are mixing it. it help it flow nice.

It probably causes cancer. We used a vapor degreaser in the locomotive shop where I worked, I had a helper that loved the smell of the heated vapors from the 1-1-1 TRICHLOROETHYLENE, the stuff is a carcinogen and cumulative in the liver, he died an early death from cancer, probably liver cancer.

The best "JB-TIP"-" is right on the package,,,,
mix the two parts,, then wait,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, it seems like FOREVER,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, before applying.

Not only does the adhesive apply better, it also seems to set up stronger.

Glued complicated plastic piece on a chainsaw handle.. Ordered a new one but its a week out, seems to have worked so far. I have done a couple complicated pieces we order the part for and never did replace.

JB weld is mostly for temporary repair at best.
If you did repair work and you see JB weld that were the problem is located. I have seen lot on crankcase from ice damage. 🧊
Even on shafting trying to repair a keyway.

    Re: JB Weld ?

Anytime I glue plastics I will drill holes, cut grooves, etc to add a mechanical hold/capture in addition to relying purely on adhesion.

Sometimes I take it a step further and will add a "fish plate" of whatever material I feel is best (metal plate, any type of wire, staples, plastic, fiberglass, etc etc etc) and encase it in the epoxy.

I find that gluing to plastics is always a gamble, especially new plastics, but the mechanical coupling is usually a permanent fix.

Sometimes when putting plastic pieces back together,

You can stitch them back together or at least hold them together with a soldering iron.
    Sort of like plastic welding.

And then put the JB on afterwards.

I’ve done this a couple times on plastic bodywork for motorcycles.

    Works quite well.

They put wax in plastic mix for a mold release and filler.
