What do you consider low? Mine was under 25, and my Basic Training company was supposed to include some of the last draftees, me included.

We would have won that war, had we been allowed to fight it right, including bombing Hanoi. I heard lots of stories about what Ho Chi Minh did to the people who tried to flee south before the US entered the war. War isn't pretty (as the current conflict shows) but sometimes it is justified in getting involved, (particularly when for self defense as with the Ukrainians now).

I don't remember, but it seems like it was under 50.

I was in the first year the draft was renewed,, my # was around 87?? ,, we were told they would take up to number 266. I was definite,,

So, I joined the US Navy,,, before I was drafted.

My ship was "Sound and Secure" while I was in the Navy. (someone that was in the Navy may know what that means,,, )

I missed. I turned 17 in time to witness on TV the fall of Saigon. Dad did 2 tours in WWII, then 1 tour in Korean Conflict, first Army Air Corps, then Air Force. Plenty of guys here got drafted. One, who dated my older sister did not make it back.

Have had memories while doing it, don’t recommend it. Some laff at PTSD it’s real, so is depression.

I’m sorry ! Try to think of it as my Vacation.
