    Vintage unit

Please help a couple of ladies figure out what they have and is it worth anything. AirCo 200 Ampere, Model 2ADT 2 P A, Serial number J178632. It looks like it hasn't been used in a long time.

Welcome to Welding Web! I'll guess that you don't have a way to try to fire it up to see if it works at all. A quick search showed a couple of units, one was on an auction that sold for $550, the other was listed elsewhere for a starting price of $100. Without knowing whether it works it's impossible to give an estimate, BUT , it's a transformer type machine & they're usually pretty tough.

The web page is old and I had to right click the pictures and open them in another tab to get them big enough to see them.
200 amp AC stick welder transformer machine? If that is what it is, not awfully valuable around here. A few caveats, are there leads with it, any other accessories? Could make it worth a bit more. Also your location could affect value. It still may be a perfectly serviceable machine but unless Uncle Willy's millions are hidden in it, probably not the family fortune.

Try the Tapatalk app. I find it a whole lot easier to upload pictures through the app versus using the website.

Yes it looks exactly like this photo and it does have all the leads as you call them. If that are the items attached to the cables.

Thank you for responding by the way. We didn't think to check for Uncle Willy's millions. But now that you mentioned it 😊

Oh and I'm using my cell phone probably why there's no option to send photos. I will try my tablet, it's all I have available.

It would be nice to know what scrap value would bring. That would give a definite minimum value. Does it have the indicator and are the connectors in tact.

Don’t try to clean it at all. There is a possibility of wiping lettering away.

At only 200 amps and a/c only, you are looking for a collector or sucker to get more than $200.

Were Airco welders made by Miller?
There seems to be Airco counterparts
to Miller Dialarc, A-D/P, and really old Thunderbolt.
    Very similar in appearance.

    Unfortunately not much $

I'd probably list it for $100.00 and take best offer.

Some guys collect those old machines to restore. It's not a very useful machine considering whats available today... But they do look pretty cool, all cleaned up sitting in the "man cave"

    Best of luck.

PS: tell any prospective buyers to bring 2 men and a boy to move it.

    Re: Vintage unit

I seem to have acquired a taste for big old heavy welders, but as others have said, not much value in that one. Leads are starting to crack in high wear areas and the plug ins are going to need some attention before you even fire it up to see if it works. Personally I wouldn't pay more than $40 to $100 for it at auction. Better go back to looking for the stash of bills...

In Fresno/Clovis 2 or 3 weeks in summer at 110°F [43.3 °C] or more with a leather welding coat and gloves he will loss 100 to 200 pounds.
    Great diet plan too.

A number of different AIRCO welders were made by Miller. The Miller 88 is a 200 Amp rated welder just like this 2ADT.
