FORD 6.7 TURBO DIESEL DUALLY versus my tuned RAM ECODIESEL

TODAY 7-1-2022, traffic light at Maricopa 85 & SR 85, you sure showed up the guy in the RAM(me). So, I don't know who the guy with the Miller welder on the bed of his F SERIES DUALLY, with the giant 20 inch exhaust pipe was, but he sure handed my butt to me in my RAM ECODIESEL, I was giving him a decent run, but then the nice metal gas can slid off of his flat bed and I called off the race to rescue the gas can, He's gonna be P.O.'d when he finds it gone after bragging about it at the DESERT ROSE. BUT..............................SHEEET HAPPENS and then you get a nice gas can.

Nice!! Make sure you wash it out and I highly recommend you coat the inside with some kinda sealer so you don't get rust in it. I'm not sure about the Eagle cans, but I know some of them are just painted on the inside and sometimes the paint will bubble, rust gets behind it, and after a while it ends up getting into the fuel.

Big exhaust pipes on a pick up look kinda dumb and unless you have a real reason to, stacks are kinda dumb, too... it does keep smoke up away from cars, so that nice.

You actually LOSE hp if you oversize your exhaust. There is an ideal diameter. I don't know the math off hand. I think it's a pretty complex thing to figure out. I talked to some tuners and whatnot some years ago and I decided to stick to the stock exhaust dia. on my truck unless I so something like a procharger. Motors are pumps after all. Backpressure can help sometimes (look at a 2 stroke dirt bike). Not to mention scavenging doesn't happen if you dump your 2" primaries into an 8" pipe.

Diesels rolling coal are cool... "smoke tunes" on a diesel for show are kinda lame. If you're rolling black smoke out of a pair of 8" exhaust tips, I expect a BIG semi pulling 100,000 pounds. If it's coming from a squatted 2500 pickup with giant chrome rims and rubber band tires it's lame.

Rollin' coal these days is dumb, the EPA is shutting down & fining tuners, with today's electronic engine controls & fuel systems there is no need to needlessly belch black smoke, highly irresponsible IMO. Fully concur on the rubber band tires, where we live you'd never be able to keep straight wheels on one.

It’s just what Diesels do when u floor them. And that eco diesel was probably a lot lighter the youre truck too and possible upgrades. Asked a guy with a eco what kind of mileage he was getting while at the gas station this week and my 01 7.3 was better then his

Moto, I point that out because of one little ting, something I use to show people the difference between "then" and "than, it goes like this, "I'd rather eat a steak than a turd". or "I'd rather eat a steak, then a turd." You can eat a turd if ya want, but I'll pass!

    NO,
There are some people in this world who can't accept fault of their own. Can't accept helpful advice/ but they are sure good at blaming everyone else.

    Typical society today.

moto: IMO johnT and caveman show they have little brains. it is especially johnT that has to constantly prove on this forum that he thinks he has to belittle everyone and show that he has the smaller brain.

who wouldn't love a guy named "caveman"

duramax-rob? well, I guess Rob is a fine name but I prefer the formal "Robert"
As far as the duramax part.... At the risk of "belittling" rob... thats kinda corny.

But you see that a lot on forums.... people come up with these names and later on regret it.

I remember going to a motorcycle rally in the GA. mountains with a bunch of guys from another board...

introduction was like, "Hi, I'm John T. ....... Hand shake.... Hi, I'm ZX9ridefastbob. ... um... Or, just Bob...

Thats OK duramax rob, It's doesnt bother me if you don't like me.
    I still like YOU.

    Have a great weekend, pal.
