If look close you see the brown wire.

The black on black does not take good photo.

If look close you the two brown wired.
They use for contact part of the relay.
One of the brown wires is connected to the switch (left side)

The ( right side) brown wire is connected to transformer

The two red wire are used for coil of the relay.
Only one is clear in view it is connected to old relay to the coil of the new relay. Used to power the new relay.

The wire you can not see in photos goes to coil the ground. I used a 120 volt coil on the relay.

Also if look closely my ¼" connectors are different from the Chicago 170 used.

The switch is has both legs switch on and off. I only used the leg going to the old relay for power to contact of the new relay.

The connections in blue line at top is a Chicago connection.
The bottom blue line is connection from new relay to transformer.

California, CN3 on the board goes to the ON/OFF switch add a wire to the left side of new relay. I used this look at pic
CN4 on the board goes to S3 , remove from board and connect to right side of new relay.
Add a wire from relay on board COM port to left side of new relay
Then from relay on board add a wire from N.O. to right side of new relay.
    That's it... Name: cn4.jpg

FYI: The 180 drum switch uses a two position switch and a Three position. Built in to a 6 position rotor type Switch for voltage adjustment.

I do not have a schematic for 180 but most parts are the same
