    It is a Hobart 213
It is great welder for stick welding.
It has a 120 volt DC plug.

The guy says the carburetor is missing. How difficult is it to find a carb for an old Wisconsin engine?

He said his grandfather took the carb off to repair it then never got around to it.

I would buy that welder for the novelty of taking it apart,, if nothing else,, at that price.

Heck, the two car batteries would give you back over 10% of your purchase price when you scrap them,,

If the machine welds,, you would have the buy of the decade,, as far as welding machines go,,
there are so many eBay import new carbs for less than $15,, something should work, if nothing more than to test the engine.

Did you find a TJD or THD? Either would fit but the magnetos are different in firing order. Parts are expensive for those old WISCONSINs. $250 is not a bad price if it runs but then theres the welder thats going to need money.

A friend of mine had what I think was a similar welder
(looked similar). It welded beautifully, but he had a
problem with the throttle linkage adjustment. I think he
sold it without ever getting the issue sorted out.
If you’re going to adapt a carburetor, you might have
some headaches if you want throttle mechanism to
work properly. For $150, I’d buy it, but I like old stuff.

I have a LINCWELDER 180 that uses the same motor (THD) and the throttle control is important as it controls voltage/amps. It would be a nightmare without throttle control. Paid $100 for it non running. I have over $500 into it now and I never use it. It welds nice tho.

I thought it was a WISCO motor. Whats G-213?

That motor looks like electric start THD or TJD

I think theres a couple versions of carbs for those, I have a couple and one has a manual prime. I may have a spare, I will check when the sun comes up.

Yeah, I am reading online that it welds well. The guy said this welder was his grandfather's favorite. I will try and track down an old original carb (ideally) or a chinese replacement; I'd rather not adapt another model carb.

Re: So I saw this old Hobart generator welder....

My mistake. The welder is a Hobart G-213 (I think). That makes the motor a Wisconsin TJD. The owner is confirming the model number for me today, but I think I'm going to just pull the trigger. I bet I can get it working for under $300 (welder + carb).

I have one and it welds great. Dave, mine has 120v AC. The fine amp knob is missing but you could probably adapt another to it. I have the engine and welder manuals. PM me your email add and I'll email them to you. With the 2 batts in series it cranks via windings in the welder and if they're connected backward it will still crank but will draw the batts down. Ask me how I know.

I am curious. When you say "it welds great". Is it smooth like a more modern welder?

If it is still available. I'll hit you up for the manuals. I messaged a few times with the seller last night.

Dave, did you mean 120v AC?

And by "great welder for stick welding"--you mean it is smooth? I am new to welding so I ask some newbie questions.

I will bet it welds every bit as smooth as a SA200.

Re: So I saw this old Hobart generator welder....

    On that carb...

When I google "Zenith series 68" it pulls up carburetors on Ebay for $80 and carburetors on Amazon and private sites for $400--that don't look any different.

Is there any difference between these carburetors or is that just people jacking up the price?

Nice. Good, cheap, smooth welder. It is hard to go wrong for 150 bucks, even if it does need a carb and some fettling.

Thank you all for your help and input.

I am meeting the guy to look at it today at 6.
