The clarity on my Optrel is excellent but not crazy about the headgear. In all fairness perhaps I need to fine tune the adjustments.

But no matter what I donít like the fact that it is not conducive to hanging with this type of headbandÖ.

This helmet came with with my welder. I donít think I would ever have sprung for the higher price of these units.

I have a Lincoln I like but my favorite would be the $100(+ or-) Weldcote. Perfect headgear, big visibility and lightweight.

I much appreciate the info, the additional comparrison between the 3350 and the Optrel, Geoff. Since I already got the 3350, [which is to be delivered in two days,] I will work with that for the forseeable future. Your comment about optical clarity and getting older are well stated. I’m 68, and have had cataract surgery on one eye, and have a developing one in the other eye, not ready to do anything with yet according to my eye specialist. If I need them, I can use cheater lenses, but would prefer to just use my bifocals underneath my hood. I can see well enough to weld without them, so optical clarity with the hood itself presents the best option for me at present, I think.

I wear safety glass under my hood.
We are about the same age

I ended up rambling a couple posts back.

I neglected to say the important part. I pretty much guarantee you will be happy with the Lincoln you ordered.
