I bought a Wilson Hornet welder!

It is a model B300. It is 3 phase. A post on another online forum said that it was built between 1939 and 1951 (?).

Does anybody have any information about them? There is very little on the internet.

No, but it is at the pole at one of my properties--where I am eventually building a workshop/barn. I called the electric company and they confirmed the service.

I honestly bought the welder because it looked so unique and it was $100. I couldn't pass it up. I'm not sure what I am going to do with it.

I have thought about seeing if it can be converted to single phase.

I have also considered slowly lurking online for a 3-phase generator. I have found that if I wait and watch for things on CL and FB I can usually get a very good deal.

My third options it to create 3-phase power from single phase using a rotary phase converter. I saw a video on Youtube about it. This just looks darned interesting. I'd totally do this!

If you're looking for a 3 phase gen set, I recommend looking into military surplus. Off the top of my head, I think something like a MEP 806a is what you'd want... I could have that wrong, though.

Edit: nope, I was right. Get you a MEP 806a. It's 60,000 watts of diesel powered 3 phase goodness.
