Well I have an ultra-small inverter, but this thing looks even more compact. I'll let you know how it works out. I ordered one for $100.

Buy a rugged stand alone common feeder. He already has a stick tig machine. Pro Mig or Hobart would be on top of my list, the 190 is spooly ready too. If you need 120V then not 4 u but there are a lot of machines on the used market and those are 2 you rarely see cause people buys them keep em.
They sell 140's,,, to buy those.
While the tig he has is ok its,,, I shouldnt say useless, you can be a fartstick and use it for farm equipment but the constant light ga common steel work is every day, or can be and exhaust, broken brackets fenders, any kind of saheet metal contraption, lots of it in farm. The wire feed was the Godsend for that work, got one prolly made 30000 welds, 50-75 rolls of wire thru it, just a guess, some longer welds but 1000;s of them like a pit stop where we got a unit next to the bench, longest thing is to remember where the hood is.

That's a good find relatively speaking, but I have noticed that in some pictures of that style welder, it shows 220V on the sticker, but the description says 110/120V. The one I found was 220V, but now that I think about it, I might cancel that order since someone who would actually buy and want this style, likely isn't going to plug it into 220-240V.

I believe it was 'This Old Tony' on YouTube that coined the phrase "Death Toaster" for those tiny inverter welders.

I found this video. Looks like most are geared towards the international market with the EU plug hence why most are 220V input. I assumed the handle was empty but I guess not.



Looks a super mega ultra compactified version of the one I bought a couple years ago, except mine is dual-voltage.

And look at this chick go!




I thought the demo was going to be disastrous, but she actually knows what she's doing!


Ya know, with the right 3D printed enclosure, I bet I could add a belt loop to the side, and you can just wear it on your hip when you need to go a small mobile welding job.

Ah, yes. 200 amps on that 1/8" rod. Seems legit.

Wonder what electrode that was. 7018 or 6013... Leaning towards 7018. Flux seems a bit "thin" for a 6013.

I can see be real handy for field work were welding is not primary work being do.

16ga is doable. Gasless flux core wire will be more difficult to run than solid wire using C25 gas, but if you have enough scrap to practice on, and are determined, it can be done. 030 diameter (for either case) would be sufficient. A machine with infinitely variable voltage and wirefeed speed would be ideal. On the low end 55-60 IPM would give good adjustability.

I agree 👍.

Most of my work the spec call out no solid wire only stick or fluxcore. So all my welding was with stick or fluxcore.

When work in machine shops they used solid wire E70S-3 and C25 nice and easy.

I was looking at the miller 211- one of the online stores has them for about 1850. And Lincoln is offering a 400 buck rebate on the 210MP.
