    Lincoln ST-170

Recently picked up lightly used Lincoln ST-170 mig welder. In the process of setting it up for a test run. Anyone out there have experience with these welders? Interested in the pros/cons.

    Re: Lincoln ST-170

I have an old one when it was a 130 which is now the 180. It was prolly a 170 at one point and if its the same it is very good and the 5 speed is perfect with 030 solid. I have a Hobart has a poor spot between 2 taps and its got more but the guy set that red one up decades ago knew exactly what he could get it to do. I bout rather have it in that model with taps. I got a lot of other stuff but this is what I still use. My firstest oldest feeder. I was going to estimate how many welds it has made. As a guyess maybe 50 or 75 thousand. Maybe between a mile and 2, closer to 2 miles of weld.
