If yes, what product?

I haven’t had much success.

Yes it works for flux core…I’ve used 3 different brands, and they all did fine. A good coating will allow you to take a putty knife or some thin metal and knock any slag & bb’s right off the weld area.

alot of work/projects were slow the winter following the 911 bombings. but schools were using the tabacoo setttlement $ to put fences in right and left, and even where fence wasnt needed. so thats almost all i did, (16ga - .120 wall sq tube panels. built from scratch using .030, .035 innershiled. i had the red kooliaid looking stuff, in a yellow weed pump sprayer, sprayed it all over the jig, and areas to be welded. worked goodt. biggest problem it made mess of ur gloves. keep designated pair, always moist contamined though.
so the recipe/ingrediant in it 20 yrs ago was good. spatter didnt stick, the powder coater sprayed them off before he did his thing. i think it was "weldkleen 350", but not sure. and the inspectors were checking. got called on using some 1.5" sq rails w/ rust pitting from sitting wet in pile to long. so it worked on the lower sizes/amperages i desribed anyway, never tried it on heavier. worked on galv of the same, too

I thought anti spatter/cooking spray was for fcaw. So what do you use it for, TIG and SprayTransfer or globular transfer or 7018. Don't tell me it's for 6010 because that would mean I'm welding wrong ? Joking but seriously, isn't anti spatter for fcaw only ?

Here is a YouTube video by Jason from Fireball Tools where he tests dozens of anti spatter spray. Including cooking spray and all the name brands.
He has a very good method of testing that reduces human variables.

Granted, he is not using flux core wire, but his methods and results are sound.
