Was in my LWS recently picking up some odds and ends, and got to talking about TIG machines and they have that Sprinter 180si, and mentioned they bought a bunch of them and would cut me a break on the kit that includes the tig torch, foot pedal, regulator, 80cu ft argon cylinder all for about $1500.

I am a newer hobby welder, just been running flux core outside in driveway on my mm211, but TIG interests me and i reckon it would be nice to be able to practice some welding say on a rainy day inside my garage without throwing sparks everywhere

Specs on the machine look pretty solid, curious if anyone has had any experience with the 180si

I have the esab rouge 180 and if I didn't already have it I would probably buy the Lincoln. The Lincoln has more tig features, especially HF start over the esab. If you don't need the real compact size of the Lincoln I would look into the primeweld 225. It's a better dc tig and also has AC so you can do aluminum. Probably a little lacking in the stick department, but overall a good machine and less than 1,000 gets you the machine setup ready to go. Another 250$ or so you can get a cylinder of argon
