Hello to everyone! Okay, a little New Years Eve reminiscing. I began welding as a teenager, for a large local fabricator. We built schools, stadiums, high-rises, etc. I became a state certified welder and welded on bridges for the State of MI. I worked for GM Fisher Body in the Blacksmith's Shop. I got my schooling and training for my Journeyman status in Tool & Die Welding and began teaching welding at the Local Community College. I started a portable Welding business and mainly serviced large construction equipment for all manner of welding repair. Later in life I "Flood-Welded" around 175 tons (conservative estimate) of high alloy material in H-12, H-13 & FX2 dies while working in the hot forging industry.
Now, as a semi-retired lover of all things metal, I create metal art using all processes and procedures in both ferrous and non-ferrous materials. I am also an active member of MABA (Michigan Artist Blacksmith Association), and a demonstration blacksmith for The Blacksmiths of Woldumar Nature Center.
I hope to continue giving back to the welding community while learning whats new in the world of welding through my interaction with this group.
Blessings to all in the coming year!
