Hello I am a total NOOB but am very interested in fabrication mainly as a hobby. I purchased a Hobart Ironman 230 about a month ago and so far have only completed a couple of projects. My very first project was a rack on my 12 foot utility trailer so that I could carry 24' & 20' lenghts of material. I built it out of angle that I purchased as scrap. Once I was able to get the material to my shop, I built a welding table.

Anyway I am off and running and looking forward to chatting with you gents in the future.

Looks functional and it will get the job done. How will you hold the material down so it will not slide forward if you have the need to stop short? Bob
So far I've only picked up small loads like a couple of lengths of 1" square tubing or some angle but what I do is use bungies and just wrap it tight so it won't move. It works good but I probably need to figure out something better for if I need to carry heavier loads.
