I know....I'm thinking of other things I could buy with that. That puts that machine up to $3K. The Syncrowave 210 would be attractive if it wasn't as big as it is. That sort of kills the portability for me.

At 115V, it's capable of 155 amps w/ 20% duty cycle. I spoke someone at USAWeld and they did say there was a difference with the machines and the profit margin on their dual voltage model was much less than the 220v version.

I'm with Mano - unless you actually know you need it, then you probably don't need it.

A lot of people say, "but what if my buddy needs me to come to his house?"

Tell him to buy a welder, put in a proper 240v outlet for your machine, or drag his broken crap to your house.

Good 120V performance doesn't come from a 20 Amp outlet. Read the specs.
