Hey guys, I’m on a limited budget and wanted to know if there’s a compelling reason to spend an extra $500 bucks for the dual voltage option. Do you find yourselves needing to connect to 110v often? I’m currently learning the trade and don’t want to be kicking myself down the road for not spending the extra 5 beans.

Thanks!

At 115V, it's capable of 155 amps w/ 20% duty cycle. I spoke someone at USAWeld and they did say there was a difference with the machines and the profit margin on their dual voltage model was much less than the 220v version.

I'm with Mano - unless you actually know you need it, then you probably don't need it.

A lot of people say, "but what if my buddy needs me to come to his house?"

Tell him to buy a welder, put in a proper 240v outlet for your machine, or drag his broken crap to your house.

In my opinion that is :)
Classic... and true.

Thanks for the input guys!
