It's been really hard to make myself not do too much research on all these new multi process machines, but this 215 is damn tempting. I been looking at the 212, multimatic 200 and more industrial versions, but for the price and the duty cycle, I may have to just be one of those guys who usually buys the newest thing out there. I never really fall for this all in one, "hobbyist" option, but I got to have this little welder. I'm sure a bunch of folks feel the same way as me, and I'm sure the pro's wont be scrambling to get one, but it is a miller and with their customer service and support, I'm gonna bite the bullet and pre-order one from baker gas. Hopefully it'll be before july/august.

230/210/200 mig, tig, stick amp outputs I'm pretty sure. The 200 is 150 on tig and stick I believe. The way I looked at it it's like the new 215 is a 211 mig machine with a maxstar 200 built in, the 200 is a 211 with a maxstar 150 built in. The biggest difference is the 215 looks like a new inverter 211 and mainly to stay inside the shop. The 200 definitely has a more durable case and made to fall off trucks doing 60mph, with the really nice Bernard mig gun included. I can't find much info on 215 but did see one listed for pre-sale on cyber weld and baker gas. I honestly don't think you can beat the price for the amperage you're getting, plus the duty cycle looks great as well. I'm gonna get a 15' Bernard gun and use it in my shop, for $1300 I don't see how it could be beat, it's a miller! The 200 is nice, plus has a $200 REBATE but it's not as high of an output. I think miller got tired of people buying a Lincoln 210 and esab rebel, they've apparently been testing and working the bugs out for awhile to be coming out with a competitive version of these machines this late to the game, but I'm glad I waited, this is gonna be one of those machines that will be back ordered a few months. The big screen and higher amps makes me think about folks waiting in line for Apple iPhones when they come out lol, but all jokes aside, call me crazy but I'm really looking forward to getting this welder in my shop, IMHO, it'll set sales records for miller..

I've been so busy I have just got around to seriously ordering a new welder, as cool as the 215 seems, for some reason I still cant get the multimatic 200 off my brain, that Bernard gun with the "Pelican" style case, the fact that it's been tried and tested as a real world performer really keeps me from pulling the trigger on the fragile looking 215 with the (in my opinion) horrible m100 mig gun. The only problem that really sucks, is everyone raised the price after the $200 REBATE came out, welder supply usually never gets beat on new welders but they've list my business from now on with going above msrp after miller came up with a rebate.

No, I wasn't planning on dribbling it across my shop, but sometimes accidents do happen, plus I have a bunch of small jobs where I carry my welder away from the shop so it'd just make me feel better to constantly carry a welder actually designed and manufactured for this purpose, there's a reason they make the 200's so tough, it's not because they double as a basketball, it's because of the constant moving, beating and banging around from just being mobile, boards are potted, etc.. I'd just rather drop the 200 rather than the 215, hadn't you? And this is completely unrelated but I just heard about 25 rounds of a Machine gun, holy crap... That was very surprising. Lol

$1585? No way brother! Go to pretty much any website who sells these welders and buy it for $1375.00 @ welder supply. Everyone else is $1379.00 welder supply is as good as anyone else, ship fast and pack very good. I ordered my mm 180 back last October wen they was practically giving them away and they packed the miller factory box (made to ship) in another larger box with packing material because they know ups drivers aren't really gentle after handling heavy boxes all day. The only problem I have with welder supply is they had the mm200 for $16xx.xx for a year, the day after miller posted the $200 REBATE, they upped their price to $18xx.xx I was gonna order it and seen the next day they raised it up by 200 bucks so they could keep the rebate, it really rubbed me the wrong way so, call it childish or whatever, but it's my choice to not do business with them anymore. Baker gas, welding supplies from ioc and a few others sell it for 1379.00 I got an email with a promo code from somewhere that'd give you a $50 protective genuine miller dust cover for free!! That is pretty much the only hold up on me ordering it, I can't find the email or remember who sent it out, that's a great deal..
The rebel, with the tig, stick, and the whole she-bang is $1589.00 I believe that's the exact price at welder supply, also a good deal but I know absolutely nothing about esab, I considered the small stick/mig maxstar type welder from esab and then thankfully got the razorweld 170 that I'm crazy about and would recommend to anyone who wants a small stick/tig with a 3year 6month factory warranty from jasic in the USA. You could buy 3 of these welders for the price of a maxstar 150, now I love miller welders, that's the only brand I've ever considered besides an old ac tombstone and the razorweld. I wanted a maxstar 150 stl worse than anything until I received the 170, I don't know a whole lot about it but as much as I love miller's, I'd put the 170 up against the maxstar any day of the week, if I'm not mistaken, most of the internals are foreign anyway, if anyone wants to donate a maxstar 150 for awhile I'd love to put them head to head and test them however folks think it'd be a good test. But anyways, I am waay off track, just wanted to save you from paying 1500 for a 1379.00 welder, plus free cover, AFTER I find promo code I'm ordering the mm215, I like everything about it and hopefully it'll last a long time, i called miller tech support and spoke with a guy who said it has a card space to where it can be upgraded, the software that is, if miller ever has a reason to change arc characteristics. I'm really surprised this 215 isn't $2,000 because it's more output than the 200 plus it's the same welder as the 211, with a maxstar 150 stl built inside of it. I think it's a hell of a deal and when you go to order a tig torch I'd highly recommend the razorweld torch, it's very well built and like the rest of it, I can't tell any difference in it and maxstar. Sorry for long winded post, just wanted to make sure you saved as much as possible when getting this hopefully great little miller..

I'm also seriously considering the 215. I am new to TIG, and need both MIG/TIG. Will I be disappointed in lift arc vs. having a dedicated TIG machine with HF start? How is the Miller TIG kit vs. putting together my own TIG kit? Can I get a good torch, pedal, and dual flowmeter for about the same price or better than the $375 for the Miller TIG kit?
I'm on the fence of buying the 211 and a dedicated TIG, or go with the 215.
The lift arc isn't as easy or as cool as hf tig but it definitely does the job. The only problem I have is when I pull up to start my arc it sticks a little bit and seems to mess up my end, I'm sure guys with more experience can do this without issue, but learning is basically practice and then practice some more, I have been starting my arc on a piece of small copper sheet and that seems to keep my tip in better shape, maybe worth trying for yourself to just see. The miller tig kit is great, my boss has it and it is a great torch, but like I've said the razorweld tig torch is as good in my opinion, not sure if u can get a foot pedal or not, and the gauges are easily picked up online at amazon, the rebates miller has going now I believe if you spend the $375 you can get 50/100 back, but don't quote me, just check out miller's current rebates. As far as the 211 and the 215, for me it's a no brainer, you're getting a 211 when you buy the 215, plus your getting a really great stick welder, and from everything I've read, miller doesn't make a bad tig welder period. The arc characteristics of miller's tig welders are smooth as can be, for only $300 buck more you're getting an extra $1500.00 welder, the maxstar 150 stl. It would be a while lot better imo to buy a 211 and get a 150stl separately for $379.00 but that'll never happen. Lol.. I think if you get the 211, you'll always wish you'd of gotten the 215, at least that's how I'd be, we always want more, if these welders prove to last for years like all the other miller welders, I don't think a better deal on a new welder can be had, miller is arguably the best welder you can get, with the 215 you're getting three brand new miller welders all in one shiny new Blue case with bright led screen, I'd be willing to bet everyone who owns a 211, wishes they'd of waited for a 215, to me this seems like it will break records in sales for miller, I would of thought they'd of charged a bunch more..

Just talked to Miller. Guess i won't be buying from Welder Supply anymore ( I'm also a repeat customer for them, not the first welder ).
You guys that got a free cover, congrats for picking a seller that was willing to do that. Miller says they won't throw a cover in because there is no current promo for it. Its no big deal.
I just need to research better dealers in the future. Miller said, that for the most part, all dealers try and give their customers the same freebies / deals
but they are not bound to do so. I know we are only talking about a cover but it says something to me about who i have been buying from.
Its all good though. WS won't get another dime from me. Still love the welder though.
Welder supply has gotten the last of my business as well, as for the free cover it was a company that sent me an email with a promo code, welding supplies from ioc maybe? Not sure, but I believe even without the cover we've got a hell of a machine, everything runs as smooth as can be, as far as the tiny dinse, not to worry, I'm sure it'll hold up just fine for what we will use it for. I am really enjoying this tig, after seeing how slick my welds look I wouldn't go back to mig if I could tig as fast.. Lol
