mike837go> You will be missed!!!
--
Had to look up where you were going that weekend... wasn't familiar with FOTA. Looks like a good time. Will you be selling any welded goodies or just walking around enjoying yourself?
--
CEP> You have no idea how I sooooooooo wished we didn't live in Hellinois and lived out your way so you could come join us!!! There are more good people than not who live out this way though.... I think we're sorta "stuck" for the time being.
--
Gamble> You are so right. Poor poor poor BD1.... his "assistant' for the day... that would be me.... totally botched the get-together date. It is on a Sunday but it's not on the 26th.... it's on Sept 25th. Thank you so much for catching my boo boo!!! I'll ask someone to correct that for us right away since I was outside weeding and missed my opportunity to edit the post.
--
I'm not the brightest crayon in the box regarding welding machines. Please contact BD1 about machines. I've never tried a plasma machine. You don't by any chance ever have any of those do you? Don't even know if they're portable or not so please ignore me if they're the size of a VW.
--
M J D> Sure hoping you'll be able to join us!!! And... of course I'd ride along with BD1 to help with your new shop too.
--
N2 Welding> Totally understand. I see you're from California.... it would be a hike out our way.... that's for sure!!!

mike837go> "Aim Better" Almost missed that slipped in the way you did. Too funny. My aim is getting much better with each and every session of classes I take. ;)
--
"deliciously terrible food">>>? Were it not for the little stumbling block that a quorum is needed to authorize a snow plowing contract.... I'd say come on down by us instead and eat well. I'm sure my husband will make some beer bread to send with me or maybe cheese bread. Who knows... he might even toss in a pie depending on what fruit is in season.
--
BD1> My ears were ringing. ;) Don't you be talking about me behind my back!!!
--
M J D> For sure I'll be his assistant for another day if you could use help now.

DSW> Thanks for editing the date in the title and changing it to 25.... could you please go back and edit the date in the body of the very first post where I repeated the same screw up when typing this, "BD1, and his assistant (me), will be hosting a "Weldorama" on Sept. 26, 2016"?
--
Hey!!! You forgot to mention you were coming. Really glad you are!!! I do think it's going to be a good time for all!!!
--
BD1> I dunno if I want to sit in the front seat of that HUGE truck again no matter how "comfy" it is. ;) I think the bed of the PU might actually be safer or you could always duct tape me to the hood being as how I keep forgetting how high up the truck is and falling out the door.

Oh yes!!! Would loooove to "play" with a plasma cutter very much!!! Yay!!!
--
I'm going to bring some of the things I bought recently.... the little soldering furnace and soldering irons, the flip roller, the bead roller, as well as the few hand tools I bought to use with them making rabbit poop pans and such.
--
DSW> you are a "special" guest and even more so considering how far you'll be driving to get to us!!!
--
We have a compressor. Don't know if it's big enough but it's about the size of a large hot water heater. Have another neighbor who has a bigger compressor than ours so if BD1 doesn't have one.... I'm sure we can check around and see who has one big enough that will work for you so you don't have to haul one all the way to IL.
--
I think setting up a forge is an excellent idea!!!
--
vwguy3> You are not going to believe this but I stayed up almost 3 hours after my normal bedtime trying to find a thread where a member who only lived about 2.5 hours away from me had generously offered to let me haul my new/used Lincoln buzzbox over to his house so 7A749 could stop in and give it a once over since it hadn't been used in at least 20 years and had been stored for even longer. I wanted to drop the man a little PM with a link to this thread. I was so tired I gave up looking for him last night and lookie here.... you're posting you're going to come to the "wang dang doodle" and you're the member I was looking for!!! I know it's you because I remember your location as being the city of four flags which is a little north of South Bend!!! Thank you again for your offer and really glad to see you'll be coming!!!
--
I know 7A749 would like to come and... actually plans on coming but.... things change and unfortunately I think whether he'll be able to make it or not will end up being a wait and see deal. As far as zapster.... the month we ended up choosing for a get together is really bad for him and if I'm not mistaken... it'd take him about two days to get to us if he didn't have conflicts and who wants to spend 2 days in a car for a day of merry making only to turn around and drive two days back home? That's an awful lot of cross country driving to be doing by one's self even if one didn't have other things on their plate that month.

Plenty of parking and plenty of room under roof so it is rain or shine. I think DSW is bringing a supplemental tent too. Never thought about it but if there is some sort of an extreme weather event... like a tornado... BD1's house is on the property and he does have a concrete basement.
--
Checked my stash of camping chairs and it looks as if we're down to three.... kids must have helped themselves over the years. If it's not too much trouble, a few extra chairs would be nice.

Too busy with my Dad and bunny shows to sew anything until after the holidays. Must admit I'm liking the idea of a voodoo doll but certainly not for zapster. Now.... there is one rabbit judge me and quite a few others would really like to see work FASTER. Sheeesh.... the guy is really one of the best of the best but slower than molasses.... maybe if we made up a special doll for him we could all take turns poking it in the butt at the next show so all of us could get home before midnight. ;)
--
7A749> Way to go on getting full time work AND a part time job to help you catch up!!! Will cross my fingers and toes for you that you'll be able to make it down our way but if not.... I totally understand.

7A749> By the way.... two years ago before the proverbial crap hit the fan when you were planning a Weldorama, I bought a little "hostess" gift I had intended to bring to you when I drove out your way based on posts you authored that I had read regarding your tastes in booze. I just ran across it so.... consider it 7A749 Northeastern IL Weldorama BAIT. ;) If you are able to make it out our way, it's yours... if not... you'll have to wait to get it until you're in a position to have a Weldorama out your way. It's aged to 11 years now instead of 9. I know.... I'm positively evil aren't I. Tee he.

FORTEALLOY> "7A749 asked me to pick up the bottle for him. I'll see that he gets it." Now that was pretty funny. ;)
--
If you're in a position to come from where ever Big Sky Country is... presumably out west somewhere, I've got plenty of spare bedrooms at our house. The only thing you'd need to bring would be a folding chair of some sort.... we're short on those.

I dunno... I'm going to have to look each one up to see what they are. DSW is bringing a forge with him and a welding machine but I don't recall what type. BD1 has a welding machine but I don't know the details on what he has. Maybe vwguy3 might be able to suggest what you should bring?

zapster> "After reading all this I guess its a good thing to stay away..." Not necessarily so!!! ;) The fellowship will be great and everyone coming will be well fed. I was just PMing someone else that I cook a lot better than I weld which is a really good thing for those who are in a position to stop in.
--
welderj> Yes, a few minutes from I94 at the IL/WI state border and there's easy access on and off the Interstate. Please do join us if you are in a position to come. Would love to have you. The more the merrier.

7A749> Ha ha ha.... you must have been joking about what you liked to drink in those threads I read when I first joined. Totally understand though since we don't drink much more than a glass of wine during the holidays and on special occasions like a wedding. One of our boys will GLADLY take that Knob Creek off our hands and actually, one of them was eyeballing it last Thanksgiving to use in a bourbon cake recipe of all things... admittedly.... the other 4 were eyeballing your bottle to drink it. Incidentally, I gave BD1 a bottle of something or other and then offered him another bottle and that's when I found out he drinks about as much Stella beer as we drink wine but hey.... the bottle will look great in his welded horse shoe art!!!
--
Gamble> There ya go.... you have an answer from vwguy3, "I vote #5". ;)

$1k entrance fee>>>? I'm pretty sure we've got an old Monopoly board game around here somewhere. Should be plenty for me to pass around to everyone else.... we'll get you paid off!!! ;)
--
vwguy3> I've been looking forward to this too. Hard to believe it's barely 2 days away.

"Also bringing the wife. All she needs is a shade tree.." Yay.... vwguy3's wife is coming also!!!
--
Rog> Big congratulations to you on selling your home!!! We'll be thinking of you up to your ears in boxes, bubble wrap, and newsprint.... it's tough packing up to leave and even tougher downsizing.
--
Meltedmetal> "Take a moment to think of DSW while you are there, he wanted to be there too." Awww.... how thoughtful of you. Of course everyone will. He's missed more than he may have ever realized.
--
7A749> "I intend to put on another one at some point.. Lots of fun!!" And.... I will be there for sure. ;)

It was an incredibly nice set up.... thank you BD1 for buying that fancy tent that we put all our food under. The weather couldn't have been better.... not too hot and not too cold with a little bit of a breeze.
--
Truly enjoyed meeting everyone and definitely would do this again in a heart beat. Rog02 called to say hi while we were all sitting down to eat and everyone yelled out hello to him in unison.
--
DanD78 was an excellent BBQ chef.... the meat turned out perfect!!! Really liked the taffy apple salad that vwguy3 made and I really enjoyed watching M J D welding.
--
The youngster that BD1 teaches came for a few hours and had a big smile on her face the whole time she was there. She really enjoyed stick welding for the first time with help from the guys. She took me aside and told me everyone was so nice. Me.... I got a chance to TIG weld with Gamble calling out what to do to me. I really liked the little green machine he brought along. That SA200 that DanD78 brought along was calling to me to try it but I didn't quite know if I was up to it or not.
--
Definitely missed DSW. I'm sure everyone will be missing him for a very long time to come.
--
drujinin>!!!! You have my phone numbers in your dumb phone. I wish you would have called!!! I could have passed my dumb phone to BD1 and he could have talked you through how to join us. You, Rog02, and welderj were missed so much.
