SA200 Exciter Wiring

I’m working on a 1985 Blackface.
This machine came to me not running. Supposedly was running and welding properly when parked, 10 years ago.
Was pretty easy to get it running but polarity is reversed at the welding studs
After much testing and reading, I’m questioning the exciter wiring.
Attached is a picture of the exciter.
The black stranded wire from the left brush exits the exciter and connects to the brown wire from the shunt coil and then to the idler board.
From under the exciter coils, a red stranded wire comes from a coil and bolt connects to the red stranded wire that exits the exciter and connects to the 115v outlet and then to the rheostat.
The red solid wire from the right exciter coil connects to the right brush holder.
I believe the exciter coils were installed wrong and should be swapped.
Correct or am I’m missing something?
