Trying to find the right balance of showing the steps/details used, so that people can point out things I could have done betters, and others may learn something from it. But also don't want to make a long boring video, so try to keep the action coming fast and furious...

Nice. What did you spray on the name plate? Did that produce the lettering?

 

That was one of those little cheap harbor freight spot blasters, and was using glass bead. Basically just using it to etch in the letters against the semi-polished finish on the stainless. Was going to paint, but figure this would give a cool effect and hold up better...

What video camera did you shoot that with? I thought it might be a GoPro in the beginning with the fisheye but the fisheye is not as prevalent later on. Great work! Really enjoyed it.

 

Yea, most of it was filmed with a GoPro 4 Silver. Couple segments I used my iphone. GoPro's really only have the pronounced fisheye look on the wide angle setting. Most of the time I use the Med or Narrow view settings.

 

What is the function of the piece of small tube? Nice work.

 

Thank you. I gifted myself a GoPro Hero 4 Black for Christmas and I'm working at having some fun with it in the shop. Did you also use the GoPro editing software to compile your video?

 

Sweet, the 4 black is nice with the 4K abilities, but I didn't like the fact that it doesn't come with an intetegrated view finder. It take enough as it is to postion the camera, get things set without having to get my iphone out to see where the camera is pointing. Otherwise, I would have got the black for the 4K.

I haven't tried the editing software. I have used several different editing packages, they are all pretty similar, just have different ways to get things done. Power Director is the most robust I have used, but more complicated to navigate. Right now I am using iMovie on a Macbook.

 

Yea, I lost the clip showing that being welded on. Its basically a little stand that the business card holder sits on to allow it to sit up above the name plate. The name plate hides it from the front.

Looks like you have a lot of editing and moving of the camera but if all came out good.

 

There is a stainless ring that I put on the top of the tube to break up the cut edge of the thin walled tubing, so I was just tacking those on...

Indeed it does, but youtube is really strict on what kind of music can be added. Officially, your limited to crappy royalty free music. I put music in some of my videos, but youtube will often do things like restrict them from being viewed out side the US, mute the audio, or restrict them from being played on mobile devices...
