I did a search for "tattoo" and got a LOT of hits but nothing that addressed protection.
Anyways.......I haven't welded a lot before and I'm starting to do it more and more (as a hobby). Well the issue is that I have lots of tattoos on my arm and anticipate getting more. I want to protect them of course as they're not cheap. Before I got all my ink, I just wore a flannel shirt. Also it was winter when I was learning. Now that its summer, it gets HOT here. I've been wearing my leather motorcycle jacket and as you might expect, after about 10 minutes I am soaking wet.
Are there any other tattooed guys on here that protect their ink? Is there some type of lightweight welding smock or cover I can wear that will protect me from the UV? I'm just working (tinkering) in my home garage and not in a professional shop like many of you.
(not that I think it matters but I'm primarily using MIG, occasionally stick and O/A. )
