Well, I guess it's my turn to be picked on!
WOW! Is about all I can say about welderj's picture. I think if that's all I had to work with:rolleyes:. I would have log cabined the beams, and welded in a bunch of web to flange gussets, and some X-bracing. Hard to believe that thing can go down the road, and the cops not pull him over!

Lol, glad I'm 1500 miles from there.
Oh it should hold fine! I wish I would have taken a closer picture of this horse trailer I use to own. The Mig weld was run so cold! Unbelievable a factory built horse trailer was allowed to hit the road the way it was welded!

I look at that trailer and all I can think of is "Yabba Dabba Do!" and I keep waiting for Fred Flintstone or Barney Rubble to walk out dressed as ********.
I’ve tangled with that guy several times about welding. He says I can’t weld anything but tests plates. :D

I got a permit once for a 15'6" high load that said I could go straight up 880/80 from San Leandro to Vallejo. The only problem was the 14'4" overpass in between. I called caltrans and they said it didn't show in their system so that was the route I needed to go
Casey you ever haul equipment for Foundation Constructors in Oakley California?
I worked for them for years.

I try to stay out of the Bay Area as much as possible
That is a very good plan;). That’s why I left there 38-years ago. I worked for Foundation in Washington, California, and Nevada.

Casey, can you educate me? Is this legal the way I have my tractor secured inside my dump trailer? Just two nylon ratchet straps from the ROP?

It’s not the easiest thing to tie down inside the dump trailer! I don’t hardly take the tractor off my property anymore, but if I do I’d like to be legal. Maybe I should use at least 4 nylon straps?

The big problem is, the tractor has so much plastic / fiberglass only place to tie to is the FEL vertical legs, or the ROP.:(

Thank you very much Casey!;) I use to do a lot of rigging, and loading barges headed for Alaska. But not so much of loading equipment on trailers. Always left that up to the truck driver.

CEP, here's an idea for you. http://kinedyne.com/products/112/floor-chain-tie-downs.html I would think they would work well on the trailer floor. the caps close up the holes in the floor when not in use.
mrolds88 never seen those before. Thanks for posting!

Weld some D-rings inside your trailer along the bottom so you can chain to the axles or frame.
Good idea Jon, except I just had the trailer LineXed inside and out. :( I could bolt them, like I have on the top of the trailer!

killdozer11 that hitch looks a lot like the one I built for a buddy several years ago.
