I'm trying to get my rig to work and start making money but I'm going the legit route....and that means insurance. How would some of you answer these questions? What type of trap is the application trying to get me to fall into?

There are so many questions on there that probably don't pertain to me, but then again you never know.

I'm sure that providing AWS welding certs will help cut the cost or at least make you potentially less risky. I spoke to my closest AWS testing facility today about getting a certification and sounds easy enough, only money, lol!

I have been a certified pipe welder and pressure vessel welder most of my life, but I don't want to focus on just that type of welding, I would like to think I should be able take on any welding job I feel comfortable doing. How to you cover that aspect on the insurance application?

Bryan thanks for all those great points!

I guess I want to believe that it easier than it is, or should be.

When I was younger if I wanted to start a business I would have jumped in without worry, but of course this before having the responsibility of a family and assets to protect!

I do understand that this really isn't a trap. Like it or not insurance is a necessary evil and a business trying to protect their assets as well.

The real problem is....trying to do all of these things... obtain insurance, obtain certifications, occupational licenses, as well as the thousands of dollars in equipment, with not enough money to work with. All of this with no guarantee of what if any income you will see from it.
