This is for bending automotive-type exhaust pipe, which is thin-wall. No way is it going to bend oilfield tubing.

Quite the opposite. It is not a mandrel bender for thin wall tube. It is made to bend pipe in the field. It's a 16 ton press, which will bend sched. 40 with no problem. Only question is if it will handle anything over 2" in Dia. That would be the real question!!

I've seen the ebay one you linked to. It will bend fairly heavy pipe but the shoes wont fit what you want to bend. 2" is about the physical limit for width. You're biggest problem will be finding shoes to fit the pipe. You may have to have shoes custom made $$$. Here's a link to a project I'm working on. Seems to be able to bend anything, again your trouble will be the shoes. If you dont have much bending try looking up someone local who races and makes roll cages. Good luck.

The 16 ton is made to bend sch40 pipe up tp 3" ID.
Pipe capacity: 1/2'', 3/4'', 1'', 1-1/2'', 2'', 2-1/2'', and 3'' pipes
HF sells one. I have one from Homier. Got it for $75 it was missing the 2.5" die. I've bent a lot of 2" pipe (2-3/8"OD) with it. I cut some pads for the outer rollers out of a short section of pipe and that really helps prevent denting by the rollers.

Pipe dimensione here to figure out the OD's it's made for.

I do not know what alloy oil field pipe is. So I cannot say whether or not it will bend it.

Some benders that are designed to bend up to schedule forty mild steel pipe, will not bend schedule 40 stainless steel pipe, unless it is annealed. Like most stainless steel hydraulic tubing is annealed. The bending dies will split open. Stainless steel pipe is a high chrome pipe that is much harder to bend, then steel, they use nickle to soften and stabilize it.

But I would say that bender in your link will bend schedule forty steel pipe.

The Hossfeld bender will bend it too. I bend even the hardened stainless steel pipe 1 1/4" schedule 40, with it. By hand, or with the hydraulics. If you like to fabricate many different things, this thing is fun to have.

Oilfield line pipe is MILD steel.
Line pipe, OK. But not N-80. He didn't really say exactly what he was trying to bend.

It will ALL bend pretty good if you drop it a mile or two!

I've bent some 2" SS Sch10 with success. Also some 2" boiler tubes that are not as thick as sch 40. It ripples a little on the inside of the bend but usually does not kink. The times I had a kinking problem were with the boiler tubes where there was serious corrosion/non-uniform walls. I am not familiar wiith oilfield pipe but the ODs mentioned seem to correspond with NPT 2" and 2.5" sizes. I guess someone just has to try it and see. Here is a gate I made from the 2" boiler tubes. It is 7' tall x 16' wide.
