Trailer fail pics

That trailer reminds me of a guy I worked for.

If I simplify his normal instructions it goes like this...
"Cut a crappy hunk of junk off that POS truck and weld it on this rusted crappy POS and make it look excellent."

Anyone else work for that guy?

Worked for some of them as well. There is so much fail on that last picture I wouldn't know where to start. Nice to see the strap " gussets" for extra insurance though.
Those I-beam spacers look like mobile home frame pieces to me.

Yikes...

No, they were heavier than that, but just barely. I like how he mixed them up so the stress points were not in line.

I'm sure dude's pulling a Cat D9 around with it when you're not looking
Well since he changed them up so the stress isn't in line, and they're heavier than mobile home frame, and have a couple flat straps for supports - I'm sure hauling a D9 is a good idea... :D

I'm comfortable sticking with "yikes" lol ;)

Well, he did maintain that ever important frame flexibility that some like to see.
Oh yeah...needs a torque tube or it'll never work :jester:

Who needs a tandem axle trailer with 4 wheels, not this guy.
Who likes to find the largest pos trailer and hook it up to the smallest truck he can find, this guy.
Also views any kind of insurance as a waste of money.
Typical scrap hauler in this neck o the woods...worst stuff on the road.

When I drove propane trucks I'd get stopped by those random check highway patrol vehicles.
They check all my stuff but let guys like that drive right by.

As a hobbyist, I dont offer much advice or criticism. Mostly just read and learn.

The last picture though, even to my untrained eye, more filler is needed....
Not sure why she's choking up on the stick...but I have filler rod that isn't scheduled to be used soon...she can explain it to me then :)

Looking like a large bag of marshmallows stuffed into a small bag of marshmallows packaging.
Seen several women in bars that are stuffed into jeans with exactly that look.... ;)

Here...this will help....

You'll notice they're not wearing thongs, so it must be ok!

Well, I guess they're not......
Stuff them in right next time ;)

That's awfully nice Dave, but I like mine with a little more meat on them.

Not quite as much as those fine ladies I posted above, but a little more is nice :D
All ya gotta do is marry one - the weight comes fast that way

(For both usually - lol)

I'll admit it. I forgot to check the tire pressure when I used my trailer last weekend to pick up a cord of wood... had to limp out of the log cutting site and about 5 miles to the service station to inflate them before the 100 mile trek to our Cabin. Brain fart. but that guy is an is part of either the ID 10 T club or the Pen 15 Club. if some one offers you help take it. even if you don't think you need it.
Good ones ;)

Yes and dangeroustrailers.org blames the trailer when most of the time the problem is the operator. Just another attempt at political manipulation and misdirection. No amount of regulation of trailers is going to cure the stupidity of these operators. This is a lobbyist who was ticked because he was daydreaming and rear ended an invisible trailer and got fined for his trouble. Of course it wasn't his fault it, was the evil HOMEMADE trailer. It's in the history/mission statement.---Meltedmetal
Here is the quote:

"Then, out for a drive one day in May 2003, Ron’s destiny was shaped when he received a
traffic ticket for rear-ending an empty, steel-mesh trailer. He thought the ticket unjust and
complained vehemently. The trailer was so low-slung and the mesh back of the empty
trailer so transparent that he looked right through it and saw only the truck towing it."

When is his next campaign going to start - against those dastardly screen doors..... ;)

Dave,
We probably should organize a screen door operators course to certify screen door users in the interest of public safety. And pass a law that only certificate holders can use screen doors without an escort.

---Meltedmetal
I'm with you, this is a large safety concern - especially for animals who get tricked when both the sliding door and screen are closed - poor things run into the screen when the door gets opened.

Thus I'm starting a campaign to force screen manufacturers to silk-screen on warnings that it is closed.
The warning must be at viewing height for animals and humans and cover no less than 40% of the door...

For trailer tailgates, the words "STOP - This is a trailer" must be sprayed across the mesh when in the upright position.
....in no less than 12 languages....

First we have to set up a commission to study the problem. Four years ought to do. Since we are all experts here how about $2500.00 a day each plus expenses. And I'm seeing a meeting in Hawaii mid January. 6 weeks should be enough. Probably gonna need 4 levels of government and 7 letter agencies involved too. Hmmm, maybe 4 years isn't enough.---Meltedmetal
Your planning phase sounds good so far :)

Wait now, what about my secretarial pool of young ladies?

They need jobs too :D
